im wondering how meny people here carry bashing weapons( pureley for self defence)

i carry a breaker bar with a 17mm socket on and a 30mm socket next to it if i get pulled i can jus say look it fits my wheel. or if the 30 mm on it on the end i have just changed my CV joint cos it was f****d..

there both rather heavy and will do some damage in the right hands.

altho i do feel safer without weapons when my friend natalie is in the car 2nd dan black belt and im still trying to convince her to fight with my cos i wanna see how easy it is to be beaten up by a girl lol.

like some guy had cut about 6 cars up, cuz he had been in the left hand lane to take a right at a round about but he actually wanted to be in the 3rd lane (on the right) to turn right at that round about....(at a different junction to me) he almost went into the side of my car, and then beeped me and gave me ****, and the finger! he cut infront of me giving the jestures, only to be stopped by a citreon Xantia who was doing the speed limit (40 mph onto the sliproad onto the motorway) he forced the Xantia onto hatching went onto a kurb to over take him only for the citreon to (no physically) push him back over. still stuck behind him he was giving it all the jestures so i flashed him and gave him the w*nk*r sign (i hope he saw - altho not really sure as i was keeping one hell of a distance) when he did eventually get onto the motor way, he must have dropped a gear, pelted it for about 100 yards only to slam on the anchors to be caught up behind about 6 cars, that were over taking 2 lanes of traffic, so this moron flashes the people infront (im still keeping a distance, but you can see the reflection from the bumper on the car infront), expecting them to move over for him, like where the hell do you want these people to go!!! there is 4 cars in the middle lane they were overtaking and one huge mother trucker of an artic lorry (i live near the continental ferry port that they use - of which one of the exits is for on the roundabout) in the first lane! cuz he was caught up behind traffic, i caught up with him, and was behind him, so then he swerves in and out of the traffic cutting in front of people with about 2inches to spare at each end!
how people think they can get away with this kinda behaviour on the roads, putting other people in danger is really beyond me!!!

ohh... guess what... you got it...
it was a chav!!! (pretty hard to miss the cap at a regimented 60 degree angle!!)

****oops, meant to click edit on the original post!!***
I think we have a replacement for Tahrey

There was some t**t earlier who overtook me (I was driving a Movano pickup) and the and the car behind me, then had to slam on his brakes because of the car infront of it, then further down the road overtook another car, coming into a 30 zone with active speed cameras only to slam his brakes on again, I mean what a t**t, he only ended up about 3 cars infront of me :?

Too many tosspots in the world. I wonder, do I need a license to carry a tranq gun? I think that would be the perfect thing... some little pindick getting wound up over a tiny, worthless event (e.g. flashing your lights)... p'toof - TRANQUILLISED! You avoid getting your butt kicked, they have a nice relaxing snooze where all that poisonous adrenaline ebbs away, and everyone else gets to laugh at their stupid ass. Everyone wins.

Pet hate of mine is people who drive so. god. damn. slowly.

AND THEN FLASH LIGHTS AND SOUND HORN WHEN YOU OVERTAKE THEM!

Jesus.

I can understand it if I've done a boneheaded passing manoeuvre and actually caused some danger, i'll put my hands up and "say" sorry, etc... What I mean here, is those who'll get upset that, at 15 mph under the limit, they're not actually the fastest thing on the road, and are peed off at you for demonstrating this by actually wanting to go (legally) faster.

Best one was some waste of oxygen I overtook in first gear yesterday. Dude. It's 8.01am, rush hour and people-going-to-trains time. You pull out without looking, force a feller to brake quite sharp (and not himself horn or flash, for the sake of decency)... then decide it's perfectly reasonable to conduct the rest of your journey at 18mph. And that no-one else should be allowed to even do 30, on pain of you throwing a tantrum. Sort your life out, for God's sake. I barely made my train following that, with much use of currently-tracker-free roads and rubber deposition.
(will these folk be fined for obstruction offenses, if all cars get trackers? it'd be nice to think so, but it's so sensible an idea that it's got no real chance)

and of course, the jokers who take it either as a wake-up call/reminder that they should be going faster, or take so much offense that they won't let you past / accelerate and tailgate for the next 10 miles. can do without you. setting tranq gun to glass-piercing darts...

heheh cheers :)

It bloody happened again today, too - different place, different reason, but still an all too common situation. COME ON PEOPLE, speed bumps are not a red circle with a "10" written in it, it is perfectly safe for you to go over them a little faster... And if you're going to go that slow you could at least have the decency to speed up in between. They're there to stop you from doing 50 and encourage you to kick back just a little, not to force everything to a crawl. I don't particularly appreciate some dozy f***wit forcing me & everyone else (including milkfloats) behind them to take more than five minutes to cover one poxy little mile of traffic calming.

Another loser pwned in first gear and i didn't even break the limit (the one on the road or the one on the engine)... and they weren't happy either. I dunno.... clear road (admittedly in a little town, but 7.30pm with no-one about)... they're making a big ass of themselves by obstructing... i'm pretty much entitled in law to pass them. Hopefully the learner stuck behind them who i passed in the same manoeuvre was taking notes. Foot down, scoot right, keep it floored and awareness turned up to 11, scoot left, resume cruise at 29.95mph over humps that barely made an impression on the suspension.

Missed that Xantia post first time around, how mad is that!

Only "weapon" i have in the car, apart from the obvious, is the stoplock and any miscellaneous glass drinks bottles that might be about (Oasis, that choco-cafe stuff you get at petrol stations, etc). The wheel wrench in the boot would be quite handy in a rumble, but that involves unlocking the hatch.. Super soaker would be quite effective, particularly with a mildly alkaline solution - aim for the face, if you can irritate the conjunctiva (eye skin) even for just a minute, they won't be able to see straight to swing or drive at you, and you can scarper.

shhhhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiit :D

had a great one last thursday, coming back down the 42 from college.

roadworks & etc are getting a joke up there, particularly with those ruddy 40mph SPECS that they use these days (THERE'S NO-ONE WORKING THERE WHEN I GO THRU...), so I'm trying out various shortcuts thru the villages. One's worked thru Measham, but further south is a complete bust (already getting some abuse from white van man when lost at a junction in some godforsaken bit of warwickshire), and I'm rejoining the M'way

all going fine, match speed with the traffic, been indicating right pretty much since i got on the sliproad, start oozing into a gap... lucky i have my eye on my mirror as some dick is coming LEFT into the same lane, positioned just right to give me a proper PITTing, off across three lanes of traffic and into the barrier. Swerve left, brakes, lights, plenty of horn etc, but then think little more of it, pull in behind then quickly into the outside lane to burn past.

He's not taken the criticism of his half-asleep driving so lightly and gets very shirty. Plenty of lights, horn, tailgating, crazy lane changing. I do give a bit back, wind left window down and ask him why he's upset as he's the one who nearly rammed me by doing a braindead maneouvre. Response is to ask me if I wanna go, eh? EH? Come on then!
Jeez.

Wind up, carry on, but he's still giving it, cutting up other people too now... numpty. Half scared, half peeing myself with laughter after he undertakes when traffic backs up a bit and puts his left indicator on, waving me to the side. Yeah. Right. Like I'm gonna pull over and fist fight with you. As if.

Traffic clears, he's behind me, give a happy little wave, drop into 3rd & boot it, then into 4th and hang on tight. Seems he tries to give chase (theoretically i should have been screwed - 1.6 astra vs 1.8 vectra) but can't keep up for some reason once i pass the ton... probably left it in 5th the whole time.

Oddly the noob ends up behind me after i've pulled off and got stuck at some lights (did enough dodging and undertaking to get lost in the late evening crowd), still with full beams on, but a quick bit of local knowledge dodging through the back streets erases all tracks.

Best fun i've had in a while, but at the same time terrifying that there's mentalists like that in control of ton-weight lumps of metal...
