pardon mr flic (cop :D) , ye peut pas changer mes ampules ici... ou est le plus pres conncessioner de VAG a ici?

sorry had to do it :D and yes the bumper does have to come off to get them out but i know that on my normal type lights (dual chamber) you can just change all the bulbs witht the light in situ (hmmm might do a how-to on this b4 too long, its kinda daft when its explained but tricky to work out)

sorry to dig up such an old post! i think mine might need re- alighning.

the car is lowered by 40mm all round, does this mean they will need re-aligning to suit?

Also, the dipped (hid) passengers side is slightly lower than the drivers, there is a definite diagonal line in the beam spread (about where the white lines are in the middle of the road) with the beam noticably lower on the oncoming traffics side. is it supposed to be like this to reduce dazzle?

Think there must be between 2-3 car length of light before the dipped beam hits the road and ends, (slightly more on the passengers side, well this covers the side of the road you drive on).

There are a couple of screw things on top of the lights for adjustment in and out and i think the other is up and down but it doesnt say., are these just for the main beam? if so does anyone know which does what? as i think the main beam may also need adjustment.

I have replaced all the bulbs myself recently including the hids (without removing the bumper), could i have upset the allignment?

The hids are self leveling arnt they? as they adjust when you turn them on. thaught this was to accomodate for weight of shopping in the boot etc that might change the angle of the car, does this take into account the lowering?

Does anyone have (or could anyone take :D) a pic of their headlight beam (dipped and full) from inside the car at night so i can compare? anyone know how much vw charge for re-alighnent through vag-com? any advise welcome! cheers guys. :D

If you adjust them yourself the reset themselves to where they were.

As for cost, it varies. I paid nothing but I think Si_GTi had to pay just over £20.
