Oh dear oh dear.. what have you done..
Hope you find someone to take the polo, would be a shame to see a formel e disappear

Btw, it could well be a knackered distributor causing your problems. Worth a look really, even if only to save the next owner some hassle..

May I be the first to say "Eugh"?
I appreciate you probably need to ditch the polo, if its a case of having everyday transport rather than a special interest piece (under 30mpg would be poor even for a G40 at the speeds you're getting from it), but...... I learned to drive in one of those bastard mid 90s Fiestas. They're nasty little pieces of work, probably would have been better off with a Corsa even. The engine is gutless, the power steering has no feel, and the seats will make you lose feeling in your legs after a half hour (double-length Pass Plus lessons were an ergonomic nightmare). It's reliable and has a good gearbox at least, and is probably quite economic, but it's not a car I even considered on my shortlist when buying my first.
Sorry like, but it had to be said. You may love it, after all... different strokes and that. That fiesta was officially Britain's most popular car. God alone knows why.

sorry to hear that bud
i get about the same sort of economy but i've never even considered getting rid of mine...everytime i go in my mates ford ka's and focus's etc it feels sooooo slow and boring, my car feels like it's going at 40 when your at 30 and 90 when your going 70....just feels more on the edge, or maybe i should get my speedo checked
plus i can mess around with the mechanics and not be worried about the cost of parts
and i can sit back and enjoy that good old errr spanish build quality

Apologies...
To be honest i dont want a car anymore... Im so pissed off with it all
I was more than satisfied with my moped... But my family needs the use of the extra car to get them to school and all that

It was more their decision to get the fiesta rather than mine

Unfortunately any car u nail it around in its gonna cost you daft money specially with these petrol prices. When i had the cupra i got 140 thrashing miles to a £40 tank, so yours is economical next to that. 1.4CL polo and i am getting 180miles to £20 some thrash, some steady cruising.
Best thing i can tell you to do as regards the fiesta is if its the Zetec engine keep it well maintained or they mess up quick, plenty of oil changes. If its not a zetec dont hammer it, they dont take it well. My friends 1.1 M reg died spectacularly at 60k.
As said though, gear boxes are smooth and its very good on bumpy roads seems to glide, plus parts are cheap and plentiful.
Find the polo a good home

Just thinking, I assume you don't still want the coupe s steering wheel? Want me to refund the payment?

well, that is a shame. Im not a fan of the mk3 fiesta but I always thought the mk4 and mk5 fiestas wernt too bad. The 1300 OHV ones seem to run forever. (although they do sound like a sewing machine)
Good luck with the sale.

hehe, the little OHV engine is a legend (i like the sound, it's just so "I'M GOING TO BE REALLY NOISY AND I DON'T GIVE A SH*T"

) ... same one they've been using since the 60s or something! and there's probably a few from the 60s that have been in daily use the last 40 years, too, its a pretty solid design (hence why its still kicking and screaming in the cheaper flavours of Ka) even if barbarically unrefined

a lot like the Beetle engines, but at least the ford lump puts out (a little) more than 40hp/litre
really did hate the zetec though. 1249cc's of NOTHING... there's probably a fair bit of power there if you wind it up to about 6000rpm, but grunt is an unknown quantity so i never really managed to GET it to 6k... even when let loose as part of a Pass Plus to get some lorry-overtaking practice up a dual carriageway (yes, once their past the legal requirement bit of getting you your license, they don't have to act as legal guardian of the limit). The Zetec actually LOST to the trucks on one not particularly difficult bit of hill. Even poppy never suffered that kind of inglorious defeat.
A car that your family has bought because they want you to act as some kind of bloody taxi service is not really your car at all. Go back to the moped and tell them to stick it & to drive themselves, get yourself something of your own choice that you'll be loving a lot more later on out of your own cash (which makes it so much more real, somehow).
