The new Polo GTI is awesome, I agree the rims are not big enough and the car is not lowered enough, but do these few things: lowering + 17" rims + ecu upgrade to 225HP (I thought it's practically the identical engine like the audi TT) and you got one hell of a car.
Oh yeah got a nice pictune of a "9n3 R GT" (I didn't make it)

I'm 19 (20 in August)
Silly question as well because I've never done it, do you act like you want to buy it to get a test drive, or do you just ask for one and do they come with you on it?
I know about 4 ppl at VW Dealers, lol. Im still waiting to test drive the Polo, but Im prob not going to buy one because I really hate the interior, the dials, the seats. Its just not GTi for me.

I didn't go looking for a test drive just got offered to take it out if I wanted to so duly obliged! Don't think it matters about age as I'm only 22 myself.
Comparing new to old is like chalk and cheese my 6N2 GTi is a totally different car then again being 6 years old nearly I wouldn't expect it to drive like brand new. Having driven my girlfriends mums 9N polo they felt very much alike apart from the fact if you floored it the new GTi went like s**t off a shovel! Felt much faster than my GTi I noticed the extra 25BHP anyway!

Handling still wasn't the best as per the old GTi but not on a par to say a 182 for example.

I must say...having seen the pics of the new GTI and the spec as in the brochures, I was a bit disappointed, to say the least.
Anyway, was just passing the local dealers, popped in to see when they were getting theirs in to have a look at.........and OMG they had it in!!!
So I did the honours, and I think its gawwwwguss! You could have a shed-load of fun with that car.
The only barrier for me at the moment is the price, with additions like climatronic and 6CD changer etc. its edging up around £16k.
I'm gonna wait a while...but I'm now definately interested for the future (I wasn't before).
However, I also had a great drive home in my current GTI.....which reminded me why I love it so much!!
