Eibach are by far the best, but you get what you pay for. I have FK Highsport coilovers on mine, they do the job but are a little bouncy

Well I'm already running Eibach Sportline Sport Springs, My current SACHS dampeners have gone, and I'm struggling to find some suitable replacement dampeners. cry:D-Dub wrote:Eibach are by far the best, but you get what you pay for. The reason the SACHS dampers may not have lasted very long is that they were probably built to a specific tolerance. Most dampers (unless specified as shorter) can only cope using a 20-30mm lowering spring, anything more than that and they will wear at a vastly increased rate.ticki wrote:I'm struggling to find some suitable replacement dampeners.

There are plenty of replacement dampers available to use with the Sportline springs but choose wisely. If you want quality and longevity, Bilstein and Koni are a couple of the best damper manufacturers in the world. Although if you kept those spring, you could only use Bilstein B8's, but both those and Koni sports would work very well.

Yep thats what I was thinking, so there no point using OEM dampers (with Eibach springs) like some people here, for them only to go in 2 or less years time.

problem is I have been looking at Apex and Spax etc, they only offer a -30mm drop, of which I don't think will look as good. I would like to keep the same appearance I have now.

If you are keeping the Eibach springs, you only need to replace the dampers, why are you looking at full kits?

I would suggest getting some coilovers. I'm running KW variant 2's and the ride quality is the same if not better then the original suspension as you can adjust the damping on them.

I keep hearing Coil overs are quite bouncy! but are they stable at high speeds (eg, over country roads?)

A Koni sport kit consisting of 4 top adjustable Koni sport (yellow) dampers, with koni -35mm lowring springs can be bought for £385 incl delivery. Fit these with your Eibach sportline springs and sell the Koni springs on e-bay to make c. £50 back on the purchase price. You are already happy with the ride height and you will gain being able to adjust the rebound (stiffness) of the dampers.
KW V2's using the same Koni internals RRP at £699. Why pay £300 extra if you are not interest in going lower !!
