im on 16's with 195/40/16 and i dont rub at all!!!!! :lol: Dropped probably about 80-90mm all round. Doesnt rub, even with a full car, but i am planning bigger spacers, which will lower the ET(make them stick out more) and then i may have a few rubbing probs, but i cant imagine many.

now then. mines on 205/40/17s looks sweet as. thanks to rich. and doesnt rub as much as my previous sixteens i am on 60mm springs.the rides great too. my old wheels shall be on soon just giving them a lick of paint...........

i have the same problem, always on the passenger side it seems to scrub, dented the driver wing once when i was going round a roundabout in the wet and hit a stank thing, wheel nearly went throught the arch :shock:

ET or otherwise known as the offset is the distance from the face of the alloy to the centre line of it...

the J figures are the width of the wheels, so a 5J alloys means its 5 inches from inner lip to the other side of the inner lip. normally, when you measure the total width of a 5J alloy, its about 6 inches wide(including the widths of the alloys lips that hold the tyres). so the majority of 15" wheels being 7J's means they are 8" wide, which are really phat and quite regularly present rubbing problems.

bk in the hey day when my car was a show car, ie when the first owner had it, it was the first in britain that had 18"s on it, f**k knows how it drove esp hill starts
