paint it black with red popping up from the front... like in need for speed carbon. that looks amazing or gunmetal is always an awesome colour

Now have the box section and hinges. Havent got any furter as yet. Still trying to get hold of a runabout car so i can take this one off the road for gearbox and flipfront build. Once the front ends all done, its whether to respray the whole car again or just the front.

Edit - Cant do it black, it shows up every imperfection, and i'm obviously not a professional!

cool just keep us updated!
any ideas on latching yet?
i think a simple scheme will work best on this car to stop it detracting from the rest of the work but thats just me

That's Saj's car if he's still got it, Polo GTi Turbo 8)

Seen it in the flesh and it's a real nice motor.

Yup that is Saj's car. Very nice, complete with lambo doors (that also open conventionally)!

How about the beetle cream? Its already been done on a mk4 that came to Edition 38 from Belgium. Also the new R32 grey looks awesome!

Found it. It completely contradicts what i said earlier, but i found what colour i will be using. Its MG Dark Fantasy. Looks black in poor light, but when the sun hits it it goes a lovely dark purple. Really vibrant. Hopefully picking up a mk3 gt runabout tonight so can crack on with the work to the gti, gotta do the gearbox, build a fibreglass flip front, extend the rear arches and then respray again. Cant wait, everyone be prepared for e38!

Oh yeah, got a few things planned for the engine as well, manifold, chip, cams and port polish. It should weigh a good 100-200kgs less when i'm done as well, cant wait!

Would also depend on how far you want to go in terms ofcost?

If money isnt a major object then I would I would look at the house of Kolor Kandy Oriental Blue- looks stunning under light and still has a simple but attractive look in winter:
