Electric Window problems - any suggestions?

After a (very) long bout of procrastination I finally repaired both of my windows following Marcman's instructions. My car is a Y-reg variant/estate so it was slightly different to the description but not so much as to make a difference.

First, I got the regualtors out by removing the five securing bolts and pulling the whole lot down into the door. This gave me enough room to undo the clamp bolts and remove the glass.

On my regulators, the motors are held on by three philips screws (not the torx screws which had be dismantling the motor itself!). All I did then was remove the large gear from the motor and clean all the old silicon grease off, re-grease and reassemble it. I cleaned up the regulator and got all the old grease and dirt off that too. re-greased and reassembled the whole lot.

I did check it was all working by plugging it in off the car but beware as the clamps can come off the top of the mechanism and need coaxing back into place.

Once the whole lot was back together it worked fine.
