i have the vw ipod kit, and it works much better than with the beta, it just clips in, takes a second!

as for ipod video on a mfd screen it is very possible, and as alex says you can do it through composite video. however there is a better way that will allow for ipod video, tv tuner, and reverse camera to all be linked through a switchbox, with an actual ipod video adapter. You can get info on this item on the vwnavi.com forum, which is currently down but will be back up soon. but i think this is a better implementation!

Again, coming back to it the change in sound quality is almost worth the money itself excluding how much nicer your dash looks, and the german navi lady shouting at you.
