LUK vs SACHS Clutch kit
People want a sachs clutch as everyone bigs them up. I work at a factors. We sell Valeo, LUK and sachs. At the end of the day, a clutch is a clutch. Cheap clutches are rubbish. If its made by any 3 of these suppliers you will NOT feel any difference whatsoever, they are all just as good as each other. All 3 are OEM manufacturers for different cars. Out of the 3 I know many a garage who would pick Luk or Valeo over sachs, as sachs isnt that big a name in the clutch world compared to the other two.
The only clutch you would feel the differance with is a race clutch. These are pretty much on or off and you wouldn't want one for a road car, as it makes pully away a nightmare, and lots of stalling is involved. All 3 manufacturers make race clutches as alternatives for a 'regular' clutch.

Have you tried replacing your Clutch Cable first before you go to the lengths of replacing your clutch itself? I found this helped, although I have to admit I'm not sure everything is perfect. The only clutch cable I could find which fitted perfectly was from VW and cost about £30 - I was able to swap it out myself using a Haynes Manual. It has improved the lightness of the clutch, but I still get occasional stickiness going into gear. I'm not sure if this is caused by the Clutch, the Synrcomesh, bearings in the Gearbox, or something else - its all SO much fun

Aye probably, I have heard that one before. My lass has more than 40 pairs of shoes that she doesn't wear anymore, but thats different isn't itMouse_GTI wrote:This guy apparently paid £140 for it. £75 is a bargain either way. Got to speak to my Dad about it being an xmas present, he will probably say "why do you need a new clutch, your just wasting more money on that car!"

I had problems with both the cable and clutch. Got them both replaced one after the other.womble68 wrote:Have you tried replacing your Clutch Cable first before you go to the lengths of replacing your clutch itself?
