Way Z. Cheers for that!
However, i already own the torq bit needed as i refurbed my 15" RXII's just before winter. Just went to my local tool shop and they oredered one in for me! As for the bolts, i've managed to loosen them off, all apart from one where i sheared the pattern on the bolt!

Can't believe it! So that one bolt is gonna slow my progress cause i've now gotta find somewherer to drill it out! The centres aren't in too bad a condition, but i'm gonna do something with them. Will probably get them sandblasted for £10-£20 then powder coated. Local place charge £100 for the 4 i had done last time!
Hopefully removal of lacquer then sanding will begin on 3 of the rims tomorrow!
Cheers

Cheers for quick replies guys.
D-Dub and Shantybeater: Don't know if you'd be interested but i may have a set of 15" RXII's for sale soon! Once these are finished and got tyres fitted they're going on the car. I might be interested in P/X plus £££'s.

can i just ask did u just sand it or did u use any polishing mop/compunds? and how did u strip the centres, acid bath or shotblast? plus how long did each rim take you?
sorry for all the questions!

good work there Mat! god u must have some patience!
what glue did u use to put the centres back on with?

Answers to questions.
Firstly, they're not finished yet, the centres only got done today and i've only placed them into the rim for the pics!
Dan: No glue or sealant used...as above, only placed into rim at minute but don't think i'll be using any! Also, i have a fair amount of patience but to be honest the corrosion weren't too bad!
way_z: firstly i used a metal curved file very carefully to remove the worst of the kurbing. Then went through the grades of sanding (80, 240, 600, 800 wet, 1200 wet, 1500 wet) Then to get the shine, used the following kit which i purchased from ebay!

Centres were shot blasted! 20 minute job. Dint pay for that though,
I'd say each rim took approx 2-3 hours. Depends really on how bad a condition they're in really!
There's still a few tiny imperfections which can be seen close up by the naked eye but don't think they'll ever disappear....they like stains in the metal and also a couple of chips in the centre of the rim which i dint want to sand down to much or i'd have flat spots on the curve!!!! Thinking of either using
Belgom Alu or just some normal wax now to protect the finish of them!
Finally, gotta decide what i'm doing about the centres. Do like the idea of Matte Black like these
or keeping as they are! Just think dirt and grime will get embedded in the rough finish of the metal!

I was gonna ask, after shot blasting they look a little rough. I guess you'd have to decide if you are going to smooth them down or leave rough so the paint goes matt. At least that's how I think it's done.

cheers for the reply, c ur one step ahead with the polishing idea! i got a similar polishing kit from polishingshop.co.uk along with lime powder and belgom alu.. also got the nitromors and tools ready plus managed to find shotblasters and powdercoaters locally so pretty much all set to go but as some might already know im waitng on a fractured thumb to heal!
i was wondering how long each wheel takes cuz i dont have a 2nd set of wheels so im gonna be doing one at a time.. dont fancy driving round on the skinny spare either so im hoping to get em done in a weekend! mind u this is 2nd time u've done it right so ur more experienced?? i'm not gonna be taking the tyre off either, just deflating them and pushing them away from the rim... u think it can be done this way?
also what does a curved metal file look like and how do u use it? i remember the ones i used in DT back at GCSE but im thinkin might be abit too abrasive..
