I have a 1.2 55e which wasn't too bad around town, until i put heavy 18'' replicas on it! I'd say your SDI with 18's is slightly quicker, and that i have the slowest car!

It also needs a service :? so its not running as smoothly as it could lol! :D

But being slow means theres a smaller chance of sticking it in a hedge!

My totally standard polo, with only satnav and remote central locking with a flip key added by me, rinces that 16.9 0-60 time. I know that the speedos are not 100% accurate (about 5% higher than actual speed) but i still do nearer 12.5 seconds to 60 with shell opti-max? oh and it is the 1.2E

Very true m8! I cant wait til i get some cash to do that lol, will be a few months yet though i reckon!

Now, stace thinks my 1.4 petrol is quick, and here is me thinking it is dog slow! well compaired to my last car anyway!
Used to have a Shakey Ass Megane 1.9dci 130, + K&N Filer + Tuned.

On a stop watch run with someone else pressing the go and stop button on it i believe i got 7.5, but that was after i had all the gear box fixed, got some mich pilot sport tyres and was tested on a very flat and smooth road.

*sigh* i miss that car soooo much...... :-(

Wish i could have it back... (just with the reliability of a VW)

lol @ the randomly timed 0-60 measurements!

either way, if VW are conservative with their times it still means they are all probably out by the same amount so you should be able to compare them all.

so, perhaps you do own the slowest polo ever ;) but I doubt it.

Yep, i can get 12.3secs with 14" alloys and mines the superior 65hp version  lol, ive also driven the mk7 55E and doesnt feel much slower - probably the steel wheels help it.

hmmm i was thinking that - i'd like to see a standard 1.2 do a low 12 second 0-60.

haha. I timed my 1.0E Mk5 the other day and I definately did 0-60 in less than 18 seconds.

Think it was closer to 16 to be honest - against the track time on my radio i clocked it at 15 and thought that cant be right.

Maybe theres something goodly wrong with my car :p

I would yes. I know my 0-60 is less than the stated 16.9 seconds but dont think its near the 12's. I have 17''s tho.
