i had this on my gti when i got it, i went to protyre which is a wheel specialist near me and they balanced my wheels which pretty much cured the problem, i still get a little bit or steering wheel shake/vibration under heavy braking but not much

All the bushes and brakes have been replaced on the car and it still does this at around 70mph. Any ideas?

Does it only vibrate when braking?
Only thing I can think of was when I had my golf, the steering wheel used to vibrate pretty bad when braking. This was down to uneven wearing on the front pads, and warped discs. Changed both, problem solved.

If not, havn't a clue.

If its a vibration which can be felt through the peddles under heavy braking, (almost like the peddle is trying to kick back at you)...then you have warped disks...which IMHO is most likley for your situation...

If you have no peddle kickback under braking, then I suspect either tracking, wheel damage or bushings...

My car has vibrations, but no brake kickback, so im trying to work out where its comming from...
