I'm gonna look in Halfrauds for carb cleaner and some BMC filter cleaner, then put up a double DIY guide

It was total easy but I'll still post up some pics when I get home. It was quite dirty. Car doesn't feel any different, maybe just a tiny tiny bit more smooth

the throttle body being cleaned is so simple that it hardly even needs a guide. Here is one i wrote for someone ages ago which they understood perfectly:

take off your air box / induction kit

the throttle body is the metal circle on the right that opens with a butterfly

spray carb cleaner on a cloth and wipe it and spray carb cleaner in the guts of it, get in to fiddly bits with cotton buds.

if you reach round the back you can find the cable which opens and closes the throttle body, makes it easier to clean

you might need to reset your ecu if your idling too high or over revving after doing this.

I just drove ~100 miles and my idle sorted itself out without an ECU reset

So is all this done with the car switched off?

Clean it first as normal then switch it on and get someone to give it blasts of throttle. Keeping the throttle constant won't open the valve

yea it was done with the car switched off cos u can grab the cable that opens the butterfly valve through the back so holds it open much better than someone hammering on the throttle non-stop

you must remember to not flood the carb with the throttle body open with the cleaner tho - or the car wont start!!!!

You just have to give it little bursts. My car cut out twice but was ok again afterwards
