my 1.4 cost me £1400 with direct line :( with a years worth of driving and an excess of £250 and no additional voluntary excess on top.
downsides are that direct line seem to say that they wont insure any one under the age of 25 with a modified car. So i cant do much really :(

but 19 in the next few days so when i come to renew my insurance i will give brentarce a go have heard loads about them.

Also - not sure if this is true but, I have heard that Confused.com are a middle man and that the price that they give you through their site is higher than if you go do it yourself first. I guess this is how they make their money and you end up paying a higher premium. Like i said not sure how true this could be, Although it wouldnt really suprise me.

I'm going with brentacre when i renew at the end of this month. They're £150 cheaper than what i paid last year! Although i do have 7 years no claims....
