The aqua blade is pretty handy actually, but make sure not to use it on panels that don't have a lot of water left on them. I scratched by bonnet once when using the 'blade, think I caught something in it

Its great for quickly skimming the water off of the roof though

Aqua blade = no no, unless you want to damage your paintwork. They are ok for glass. Use a waffle weave drying towel

Have either of you got a link for where to purchase such an item?

the punto forum i used to use got me into the habit of using a wash mitt and a waffle weave drying towel and i've never looked back!!!

Sadly not in my local Halfords, its only a small store compared to most it seems! Limited stocks of the Meguiars range let alone fancy stuff like waffle weave drying towels

As I mentioned in my previous post those blades are rubbish. If you got it from Halfords I just pop back with it, they're pretty good about returns.

i was on about waffle towels!

the mitt AG shampoo and shammy worked really well, shows up alot of small surface scratches tho!! anyone know of any product thats good to get them out? I heard something about scratch X maybe? and does anyone know of any good wax for a black car?

I realised you said about buying the Waffle Towel from Halfords, I was just agreeing with earlier posts. Anyhooo... If the scratch is not particularly deep then ScratchX should be fine, but you'll need to look for something a bit more abrasive if its down to the primer.
Wax wise I'm using the Gold Class Wax as well with the Applicator Pads that come with it. Seems pretty good. I wouldn't worry too much about getting a black specific wax it won't make any difference (I've owned 2 black cars before).
Too be honest if you want to improve the appearance of your surface most after cleaning and before waxing I'd suggest Claying your car, you'd be suprised by the amount of rubbish that collects on the surface - e.g. Tree Sap, Remnants of Bird Plop, ec. After that it should feel as smooth as a baby's bum.
You might also want to consider getting some Tar & Glue Remover for the well and truely solidified bugs that get attached to your bodywork - it saves rubbing the surface too much and causing scratches - I've used Autoglym's stuff so far, but I'm sure others do stuff.

got my cleaning gear through the post this morning, gonna try and get round to attacking the polo with it within the next couple of days



i've got sonus sfx-1 & sfx-3 hand polish, poor boys EX sealant, megs wheel cleaner, poor boys wheel sealant, some applicator pads and some masking tape,

i should've got some clay whilst i was at it but it would've added another 20 quid so i'll get that for the next time.
