A strut brace helps the tri m creaking, but the dash is still very noisy on occasion. anything that contributes is a big NO!
I am also put off by the extra noise. I think coilovers are a major factor in general noise. Bit of a pain in the arse. Lol.

im not liking that comment either, was literally gonna get one then seen that and did not bother

not good, my strut braces stop the car from making noises and with the chassis being so rigid with the coilovers, poly bushes and arb's upgrades, last thing i fancy is something giving off moises again :(

it's odd, because I was thinking removing the tray and putting in the box might help (stiffer structure maybe). but clearly not.

unless anyone wants to counter the argument?

Had mine for well over a year now. If anything it has reduced trim noise than the open type tray for me.

I did have the lid 'popping open' when I had Spax suspension on mine, But this has never happened to me when I had the standard suspension or even currently, where I have FK coilovers (which are much stiffer and a little more harsher than the Spax springs)

I'v had the cubby box on my Polo 9n3 for well over a year now with no extra noise issues. My Polo has a strut brace and is on standard suspension- I did stretch the return spring a bit before I fitted it though with may have helped

The cubby box just sits in the hole in the dash like the tray did - its the cubby box's lid hinge mechanism that eventually causes the extra rattling noises, like I think I said before, it could be that some white grease or something needs to be "replaced" fairly frequently. You usually find that if a part like this is put on the options list and does not eventually end up being fitted at the factory to the top-end models, then there is usually a good reason - like it might end up causing even more rattles. I fitted a Fischer casette box into a Fiesta dash once - and I can safely say that Ford would never have fitted it standard because it made a lot of noise.
