WOW, I'm loving that New York skyline one.

I'm going to have to give this a go sometime

What HDR software do you use?

ok basically you set your camera up on a tripod and you take three identical photos, one with the exposure lowered, say to about -2, one to normal exposure i.e. 0 and one thats over exposed so +2. Thus one dark one normal one light, the software then maps all three together, murging all the tones to create the effect.

I used a software called photomatix which is free and dead simle to use, but the problem i found was it can make the images quite grainy. photoshop cs2 also does it. have a go.

I'll ask the question in a different way then....

I have a fuji S5100 and I've never used the bracketed shot facility because I didn't know you could merge shots like that

I can't remember what the software i'm using is called but the free trial software on this site will do the same.

Also take a look at the tutorial on there - will explain it better than i can!

Instead of using HDR software, couldnt you just cut, paste and overlap the images (where necessesary) in PS?

this is the effect you get doing it that way. its almost the same but it takes a lot longer

Yeh I've seen some amazing forest examples of these, like this one

i tried one but it didn't reallt come out too well to be honest! gonna have another go when i see something cool!
