My car is the sport, so it is 15mm lower as standard (I think?)

I will be fitting 35-40mm ABT springs, so this will be an additional 20-25mm lowering.

I will pop it on the 2 post lift tomorrow and investigate the leads you've given me, and have a chat to VW.

Also you mention some software, is there any chance I could get a copy of this I had microcat and ford TIS when I had my fiesta and both were very helpful.

WRT software, keep a look out for Elsawin on ebay - its quite cheap and turns up frequently. One thing make sure its a copy of Elswin you are buying as I got caught out once and ended up buying an old Autodata "all cars" servicing data described as "what any VW owner needs" - not useless but not what I was after. The parts catalogue ETOS shows up frequently on ebay - but it is usually only a short period trial disc - so you need to turn the date back regularly. I have used the Ford TIS but it is hard work - as Elsawin can be - referring > and > to other places. Why not buy a Haynes workshop manual as it tends to cover most areas.

Skoda's are just VW Audis not the other way round, hence why a new skoda has the vw audi badge all over it!

Unfortunately this is true for all Skodas other than the Fabia - it is truely a Skoda and the poor old Polo 9N and Ibiza 6L are just clones of it - except they tend to get better/different interiors and an extra engine - oh and one engine less (the 1.4 8V Skoda engine). I didn't think that any new Skodas would have a VW Audi badge anywhere near them - but they will have the family branding on all parts - ie printed on or pressed on piece parts and spares will always carry the VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda and maybe VW Commercial logos on them as they are all part of the VAG family. I have not seen Bentley or Buggati on them yet or Porche!

sorry to continue this but there is NO independent adjustment in the front suspension for camber, the play you talk of in the lower ball joint bolts is not camber adjustment it just happens to be clearance fit bolts rather than interference fit hence the slight play (when doing these up your supposed to push it to the most inboard position when tightening. The only adjustment that is intended to be made is subframe positioning to balance the camber on both sides.

Negative camber is a reality of lowering a car, many VW group cars do not have adjustment as standard, if you don't like it don't lower it!

There is however camber adjustable top mounts available for alot of the models, however this is usually intended to increase negative camber rather than decrease so im not sure how much adjustment they have in the positive direction.

P.S im dropped about 100mm on my 9n3 GTi and i have no tyre wear issues. tyre wear issues on the front are caused by bad tracking 9 out of 10 times, its worth getting a decent alignment too, i don't go anywhere that doesn't do laser alignment as it will not be spot on.
