This thing is really cool!

There's 54 different channels on the GTI climatronic, a couple of them don't do anything.

The list Max posted are all true, and me and Alex came to the conclusion channel 24 MAY be the oil temp. For it measured 38.7C when the engine was running at 90C. further test to be carried out.

Here's a pic of what it looks like:



01 is the channel number, which in this case is the Interior Temperature
28C is the reading. So it was 28C in my car at that point!

You can change which diagnostic number by pressing the temperature buttons on the unit.

You can alter the readings on some channels by pressing the fan up and down buttons on the unit, for example this one:



It's the first channel, so it's classed as '0'. It controls the fan speeds.
Here it is currently set at 37, but it could run from 0-255 (IIRC).

Sorry about the shakey filming, i was going down my bumpy drive. Also notice I have no 'filming and changing gear at the same time' skills and put it in forth instead of second haha, it gives you an idea though.

Max - you may want to use one or both of these in the FAQ instead of that other one

If you press Econ and auto together it changes kmh into mph.

Played all day with mine today, I love it

Trying to find if one measures MPG, its doubtful but would love it! Haven't found it yet though. Anyone know if one does or not?

i did have a copy of it but cant find it and sadly left vw a few months back!

any idea which section its in? Im not one for workshop manuals lol

Yep. But wen you exit youl notice the temp is then displayed in degrees F. so press econ and auto again to change back to degrees C!

There was an old thread on here that linked to a website that described all the channels and a useful how to guide. Cant find it tho. Mite of been on club polo!

This is well cool, had a bit of fun playing with this on the way to work this morning.

When my speedo reads 30mph the climatronic reads 27mph, now i finally know why people have been overtaking me (whilst im doing 30) through speed camera zones.

could save alot of hassle for you alex if you can get it up on climate
