That sucks man, what a pr*ck.
Is everything covered under insurance? Like your full cup kit?

As it was not my fault (not even in the car) its not a big thing about the kit, but yes it is. I'v had a real close look at the car and just dont think there is enough damage to write it off - tuff little car the Polo! Anyone have any (legal) ideas of how to bump the claim up a bit. Think I can claim for loss of value to my car but cant think of anything else. I'm using an accident management company to do the honours for me and they have been excellent so far. Got a courtesy car on Tuesday - a brand new Mk5 Golf GTi which is really nice, not quite my Polo but better than the normal Micra courtesy cars

holy s**t mate, thats awful!
i have absolutely no sympathy for the bloke if he was seriously hurt, shouldn't be in the car in the first place! my dads best mate was killed by a drink driver so i have, how to put it, issues with them!
jope you get it all sorted quickly mate and that you get the right outcome!

Thats the problem, the chassis dont look like its bent at all, no creases in the roof or panels. I have heard from the bodyshop I got it to and they have quoted just short of 8k to sort it! Book value for my car is 10k so its looking like a write off, all depends on what the assesor says if he wants to view it.
The company I used is called Accident Exchange, hopefully no one will need their services but the number is 0845 0529848. So far highly recommended.
The Golf is a great car and I do like it. Not as quick as the Polo, but nicer power delivery. Feels a bit too well behaved as it is, needs a remap.

Got word today that my car has been written off

The offer to settle the claim is £12000 which I am happy about but I'll still try for more as that is their first offer. They offered to sell the car back to me for £5500 so I could keep the car and still get £6500 back. Not going to fix it up myself as I have totally lost interest in it................... anyone want the challenge of sorting it? Anyone interested PM me, I'v got till Monday to let them know
