Sorry to bump this thread from the the dead
But this morning this has happened to me, and just to add to the mix, my driver and passenger doors have keyless handles, uh oh
Could some one tell me what i can do with Vag Com to sort it?
I can enter the car from the boot, tripping the alarm of course
thanks

You need the SKC code for your car. It came on the plastic tag that came with the original keys. You can ask the dealer for it though and they should just give it to you
Have a browse through here for more information on key pairing

IMHO if it is JUST the radio remote locking/unlocking is malfunction (i.e. you can still use the key to start the car) u just need to adapt all the radio remote keys again with the convenience system (address word 46) with VAG-COM. SKC should not be required.
However, if u had a brand new key u need matching the transponder of the key with the immobiliser before u can start the car; and any matching with immobiliser (such as matching transponder of the key or a new ECU) would need the SKC.
I've bought my car brand new from VW dealer in HongKong in Sep 2001 and the keys does not come with the plastic tag (SKC).
The dealer will not and no longer be able to give u the SKC since VW use the GeKo online system for immobiliser matching in 2004. I've heard that Vagtacho will be able to read out the SKC from the dash panel insert.

I left one of my key unused for a long time and found that it had lost the radio wave remote central lock/unlock function (bad key), I still had the functioning key (good key) which i use everyday.
Both keys were still able to start the car, just the radio wave remote central lock/unlock function fail on the bad key.
I've try the following with success to reenable the radio wave remote function on the bad key.
1. Insert the (good) key in the ignition switch/lock.
2. Switch on ignition.
3. Lock the vehicle mechanically (driver's door) with the (bad) key and then operate one of the radio wave buttons on the key.
4. Then after a pause of more than one second operate the radio wave button on the (bad) key a second time.
5. The process is completed.
