I can't imagine the work being that great for £200.

I know someone who paid around that, and you could see his previous colour coming through!

I take it he didn't do any of the door inserts boot lining or engine bay? you can see a bit of red on one of the inserts.

sorry to be picky but I think you'll be paying twice for this one.

For £200 you can't argue!

I'm a big fan of that colour and will be a shame to see it get changed.

alright mate not to be funny but i just seen this and couldn't help thinking it's alot like my car hence the colour and the black angel eyes that are going on it. The whole point of doing my car the way it is was because no one had done it but it seems to me like it has now lol (bit disappointed now) but i'm defo not respraying mine.
i have to say i can't wait till you get the colour changed not been nasty! i understand its just for now to cover primer i just dont want ppl thinking i copied thats all.
i know i sound like i'm having a go but im not it's just i like to be different and do sumin no one has done, there's that much that has been done now its hard to be different but i just don't like ppl trying to copy what you yourself have done, not saying you have but doe's look that way.
defo go for respray in my opinion.

i'm so gutted i knew this would happen before i got mine on the road it sux.

Don't worry Mike, You've spent more time & effort in getting your motor A1 how you want it, & have documented that journey for all of us to see & admire. If anyones been copied, it's you, & for one reason,

YOUR MOTOR LOOKS AWESOME!

You should see it as a compiment that someone is attempting to emulate your idea's, shows you've got it right! And you've got to admit, a £200 paintjob is not going to scare you!

Rise above it! Your Polo is gonna be great once finished & on show. :D

^^ YOU wish you got it to E38 now don't you Mike?

Well if you look at most modified polo's they're all similar styles and we tend to do the same things. Small touches differenciate our motors but the general looks are common.

I don't think he went out his way to copy your motor outright Mike even though it may seem that way. For some its the case of wanting to do things but don't get the opportunity. I've always said to myself if I ever had the chance to respray a car and I was going for the smooth euro look it'd defo be baby blue. Even though it's what I wanted since the age of 13 I could never afford to.

What i'm getting at is your a lucky boy Mike for getting it done first, wish I could've. If others also do, they may look at yours for inspiration or just wanted to do it anyway. After all there's no way two people can't have the same colour choices! Your lucky his getting the paint changed though lol

Mike you defo need to get your car out to a major show if possible. Would love to see it at a major event such as Players on Sunday or the up and coming midnight cruise i've got planned for November *hint hint*.

november you say? well i'll be on the road, may not have the car done inside but i'll bring her dwn if you want mate.
i know i shouldn't be like that about his colour choice, you are right more than one person will like the same colour but its just the fact mine ain't on the road yet and the colour has been done i just don't wanna be looked on as a copy cat.

I know the feeling fella and you have done some major surgery all on your own there too. Lucky i've never had the funds or I would've done it with my first polo 3yrs ago

lol I got pi$$ed off seeing the same set of ripspeed rims I had on another motor. They were rare as hell and for once a gorgous set of rims from a barry brand, which everyone gawped at! In the 1.5 years i've had them i've only spotted them twice on a laguna and polo. it still wound me up though :x

Anyway, if you defo want to get it at a big venue then go for a major show. As there isn't any for ages as summers over you could head down to the midnight cruise early november. Atleast 100-150 cars make it there so would be good publicity for your motor.

The whole 'originality' thing drives me up the wall. Who cares who's copied who. A sweet motor is a sweet motor IMO. Although copying someone straight out would take the p*ss a abit. 8)

rite then. firstly i have not got this car on the road yet so it wont be the first one on the road in this colour. Secondly i have had my internet for 2 weeks and have never seen the other baby blue polo before. Thirdly it may be a £200 paint job but some of us have kids to pay for and houses to pay for and only get paid a £1000 a month!! I mean fair enough on your own views and all but living in york (where there are few polos) i rarely see any polos modded at all so obviously im going to fink about taking mine what i fought was 1 step further than the other polos around this area so mine was different! Im definatley changing the colour - possibly now at the end of this month because i dont want to be branded as copying other people. I didnt aim to copy anybody with this car but to be honest its slightly disapointing being branded a COPY!!
