Now it is done

Image

When fitting my coilovers i had a problem. The underside strut mount was not good enough to take the compression of then new coilover and with the steering turned this is what it looked like:

Even when the steering was straight it still wasnt seated correct. So now im after new strut underside rubber mounts. Trying to get hole of polyeutherene, if that is how it is spelt, but i know that powerflex dont do them for polo's! But they do them for the seat range. Does anyone know if there would be much different?

Yeh that top mount should not look like that. It's popped right through!

Didn't say it in the PM (just thought now) but before rining GSF for OEM replacements, try ringing venom and other sites to see if they can source you some aftermarket ones. Chances are one of them may be able to source you some.

Sorry taken a while to get back, got the lights from abc design. Cost around 100. I lowered it till i was happy with it. It dropped loads after putting the coilovers on.

Going lower though as i have a slight update now. Off came the bump strips, mudguards and on went the pressed german plates.

Still marks where bump strips are, need some more auto glym tar remover, great stuff. Also one bump strip came off and took about 3-4 inches of paint off! Oppppsss but im getting that panel resprayed soon.

Also got these pedals, only problem is the accelerator doesnt fit, but will be modified to fit,

And it needs a clean!!!

If it's anything like the LHD TT pedal, it'll need glue to stick it on. Araldite is good for this. if it's RHD I'm not sure.

Only thing i would need to do to modify this pedal to fit would be to cut off a little from the pedal. But if i muck it up then i could be screwed!

German plates are easy to get, mine from ebay. There illegal though. Cost about £15-£20. If you get stopped, i never have (even after being followed by the police and then stopped for going to fast round some bends and i even managed to loose them but they know where i live) you can get a £33 fine i think, might even be a £30 fine.

Cause there German font and got the 'D' when its a right hand drive. If it was left hand it would be ok. You can get legal ones from dubmeister, http://www.dubmeister.co.uk/ but im not bothered about a fine. Most of the people i know who have them have never been fined, touch wood. Tim runs his polo with german plates.
