To remove the light switch push it in then turn it to the side light position, you should hear a click. Now you should be able to take it and and may even see how it works..

my initial 40 views post was a little impatient i agree

my subsequent posts werent aimed at the forum itself but at the patronisng statements that assumed i wanted to cruise round with my driving lights on when they werent required.

my apologies to other forum members

mwbpsx wrote:the offence you would be charged with is 'improper use of lights'

it is a fine and no points

you turn over the fixed penalty notice and write: I wasnt using my lights improperly

you wont even get a reply!!!

this is fact my son had the very ticket

The actual wording of the offence is causing undue dazzle [to oncoming traffic] and it is a £30 fixed penalty (no points) and the undue dazzle part comes into play because you are outputting more than the allowable 110W of light [to the front]. Your driving lamps (or whatever you wish to call them) would be no lawful excuse [if the weather is clear] and you are using them because with your dipped beams AND the fog/driving lamps you are exhibiting more light than is required and hence the offence is complete.

I'm going to guess that you're the sort of person that doesn't believe in dipping your main beam to oncoming traffic either.

Why? It's not as if it has taken it out of context....

Maybe I've missed a turn here, but, typically this is the blurb used to sell European types of light switches into the North American market. So, in other words, this switch is exactly the same as the one currently fitted to 9N UK spec'd cars with front foglights.
