The wheels need some 185/45 tyres!
Good first stages of a clean,if it hasn't been cleaned properly in years I'd definitely clay it before considering a wax polish or glaze.
De badging is always a nice touch. GTi off would get my vote also

Car looks much better now its sitting lower but I really dont like what you have done with the BBS split rims.
I dont think the red lips or centre caps work at all, maybe black & red wheels but not silver & red.
Its all personal taste though. How are you finding the FK coilovers in terms of comfort & handling?

yeah ive taken those centre caps out for now alex look better without and yes i am looking at getting some form off them bbs caps to
the pictures make it look red but its actually bright orange, and as said above looks a lot better without the centre caps in at the moment. they are only run around wheels until i buy some new alloys, and they rims needed a refurb as well
i heard people slating the fk's and these are the ak coilies and they are perfect for what i want pretty firm ride but stil rides fairly smooth

Hhmm bright orange, not so sure on them.
are they 195/50s? The profile looks really big.
195/45s and 10mm lower all round will look nice. I think nose lower than the rear is better

about a week late and pasted from somewhere else
after the first detailing session the car had i decided i wanted to clay it having never even seen the results of a clay bar beforeand used one. so i bought a meg's clay kit cheap at fiesta in the park. as its never been done before the was 10 years of grime so took me about 3 hours

but when it comes to doing it again wont take any where near that amount of time. i didnt use any polish or wax after this just using the wuick detailer that came with the kit. i meant to polish it after but just ran out of time.
these are the result's - before after a wash shampoo and dryed

and the worst of the grime as always by the arches

the results

some reflections :aviator:
let me know what u think
have some wheels on the way to

Nice and clean mate
Shame about that puncture mark on the front bumper though!

Looks great mate, nice & clean.
Those orange outer rims really dont suit it though, I think it spoils the car a little so I look forward to seeing the new wheels on the car
That ding on the front bumper looks nasty too.
What you got planned for it next then?

wheels are a marmite thing had some spare paint i like them thats the main thing.
i dont know what could cause a bump like that in the bumper as i bought it like that.
next thing on list is to sort the new wheels out and replace wishbones or just the bushes in them

bought a few things going cheap at tesco yesterday
some new wipers as mine are rubbish so thought id go for the areo wipers try them out see if they are any better, and they do look better, and some tyreweld was going cheap so bought that as when i bought the car it didnt come with a jack for the spare or a wheel brace.

old wipers, found that my old ones someone had put a 21" and a 19". worked fine but put them both back to the right size

new wipers
the main news is i bought a set of 5 teledials for £100 a month or 2 ago, all need a refurb and centre caps which i have already sourced but cant moan for that price. sizes are fronts 6J rears 7J, the spare is still totaly original with original tractor tyre and centre cap. no curbage on them at all.also found another bargain on ebay on sunday a full set of brand new 20mm hubcentric adaptors for the awesome price of £93 posted!

so straight on to see how the wheels sit
rears sit perfect it appers

fronts look to poke a bit more than the rear but the wheels were slightly pointing left so will probably sit fine
paint this month, plus need new lower arm bushes

picked the wheels up on tuesday but havent had a chance to get any pics or fit them. all i had done was polish and was them when i could. so a free day today i trialed them as i havent got any locking bolts for the alloys yet. i went for gloss black in the end with the badge left as it was just sprayed around the edge of it. for those asking about stretch earlier same pics below to show what it means. i went for brigestoen potenza's with 165/50's all round on 6J at the front and 7J on the rear. forgot to stick the centre caps in ive realised

mainly because they werent fitting tight so ive been working on them to properly sit in and stay in
these pics look high obviously because i had to jack it up and still needed to settle. when i come to fit them tuesday i will sort the height out properly. ie lower!

the rear

the rears have some lip showing :Q

the fronts, they actually make use of the rim protector, just!

final pic
personally i love it and has come out better than i could have imagined, think it looks really stealthy and complements the other black bits on the car.
will get some proper pics at prept this wednesday
what ya think?
