i thought id save space by asking in here, so hopefully it wont get over looked.
while taking parts off the genisis i noticed that it has extra stuff in the engine that my gt doesnt. can any one help i dentify what the parts are?

god knows what this is, also, the header tank in the gt has a temperature sender and this one doesnt. anyone know where it takes the temperture from? only ive got a shiney allard one to fit that also doesnt have a send plug.

i think this is the brake resavoir(sp)? but main thing is the cap is a ford and the plug next it is, well, as you can see, not pluged in. im guessing it should be, is it a problem?

last but not least, the blue plug. this socket is open on the gt, does anyone know what it does?
any help is greatfully appriciated, thanks
dave.

The Genesis won't have the coolant level sender in the expansion tank. It's nowt to worry about! The lump next to it could be part of some alarm system?

The plug should be connected, as it's the brake fluid level sender - not sure whether you get a warning light on the Genesis because of this?

The blue plug is for the blue coolant temperature sender. The black one next to it is the same, but the blue one's used for the ECU and the black one is for the gauges. As your car doesn't have its ECU anymore (in fact, it's sitting in mine...
) the blue temp sender does not need to be connected.

David, Are you breaking a Polo Genesis. If its a Coupe and you have all the original windows I'll have them off you. Are they the Green tinted ones?

yeah i am james. the front window definitly is but ill check later on and let you know about the other windows when i get back
@amstrange: thankls for that. any idea if i could somehow steall the sender from the genisis and modify it to work in the gt so i can use my shiney allard tank ('cause it looks like the tank from the genisis(i.e no sender in the tank) but i need it to work in the gt that does have a sender in the tank)
hope that makes sense

The Genesis doesn't have a sender you can steal. If I were you I'd fit the Allard tank anyway - I ran my GT without a coolant expansion tank level sender with no problems. In fact, I think I've seen a few GTs and G40s out there that didn't have the bit of loom to the level sender there anyway. Mine doesn't have the loom there for it, but that's because the other part of the GT loom I have is on your car still.
When you've got that car put back together make sure you get a cam put in there! It's one thing I reckon Keith really should've done to make the most of the car.

ok then, ill run it with out the sender but if it goes t**s up ill blame you.
nah just kidding

, was thinking of doing that anyways but thought if i could have a sender on there then i would.
thanks for that

Got any bigger pictures mate? those ones are tineeeey...
I thought for ages the horn in my car was roughly brick-shaped, made of black plastic, and sitting near to the ignition coil - found out months later that it was actually a knackered alarm that had been long since disconnected (but not removed!) and the horn was hidden elsewhere

(maybe flaky OEM alarms are a fact of life?)

D4V1D, how much would you be asking for all the windows? Are they in good nick? What area do you live in? I don't think they could go in the post. Are you going to GTI? Contact me my email address is:
