The bit just above the climate control/ heater controls?
It's a coin holder. You know there's little slits in the sides your meant to put coins in them. Tho personal I Keep my head unit remote in it and keep my money in the ash tray lol

"stowage area with coin holder" to quote the handbook.

I think there's nothing you can replace that coin holder with, its not a DIN size so nothing else fits in it afaik

So you are missing 3 & 4? Cup holder and coin/storeage tray?
You should be able to buy the hole lot from a scrappy/ eBay/ VW.
Meaning the cup holder, coin tray, and the bit that screws onto the dash that holds them.

Or scarfrice the large cubby and do what Emma did instead.

All the coin stowage bit is good for is for coins, little remotes ;) , USB connectors ;)
It's just too little for anything else

Tbh I've never know that section not to be there. I've had 3 6n2s and been inother peoples and never not seen it. Even my mate has that section in her Lupo E- except her buttons are there instead of the cup holder and coin tray. It's also pictured in the handbook. So I would have thought it would have originally been in your car, but removed for some reason.
By memory that section is just held on by two screws and some little clips at the back that help keep it in place.
So should be nice and simple to put one back on.

good good. should be pretty easy. its just getting the screws in the holes which is the hardest part sometimes ;)

This is what the section looks like. as you can see there are two clips at the back. they are ment to be hidden. but last time mine came off i didnt notice that one of the clips was sticking out so i need to sort that out at some point.
and you can see the holes for the screws

Nah deff not. Coin tray and cup holder as standard, I've had an E which is the simplest of all models and that still had them. The GTIs have climat control and different clocks, everything else is the same.
