Thats not good... Sadly my mot is due on friday and i just cant seem to find anytime to do this so ive gotta leave in the expensive hands of my local mechanic!!! Probably just end up with a second hand one. I'll try and get the old one off him though and see if i can mend it, never know when it will come in handy.

Definately worth keeping hold of it if you can, i have three of them now and i just swap them round when the light stays on and fix the one i take off

Hopefully. Havent asked him yet :)

I don't know whether this will help, but I've had my ABS light come on before.

Took the car to the VW garage, told me both rear sensors needed replacing.

I then had a look at the connector under the back seat, and because one of the kids had been bouncing on the seat, the connector had become loose.

I put the connector back together, and voila, no ABS problem.

This has happened a few times since then, and same problem/resolution.

Hope yours is as simple to fix as this.

Chris.

Unfortunatly not.... All my wheel speed sensors are reading the same.

I've taken the control unit off now, its sitting in my house waiting for the dremmel. Cant find anyone who has one i can borough sadly.

Oh if anyone is interested the star socket you need to remove the unit is an E5, they're on ebay for a few quid.

Sad News on the polo.... Took the car to an autoelectrician, not cheap, he gave a good look, prodded and probbed it and found that it was a fault on the wiring loom! Quoted a minimum of £700 to get it fixed :( One thing i noticed when he was testing it was that if the fault code was cleared and you didnt take the keys out of the ignition, the light wouldnt come back on no matter how many time you started and stopped the engine!!! very odd. As soon as the keys were removed and put back in to start the engine, bang, light came on as sson as i went over 15mph! Had to part ex the car a few weeks ago and now am the proud owner of an audi a3 2.0tdi 140 sport. Do miss the little polo though :(
