You can split them if you are careful and spray the inside silver bits black thats not reflector surface

Well it started off at £2000 with 3 points on my license

with Admeral and its only a 10 month contract but i still get my 1 years NCB at the end

and i can do the same contract nect year.
But with my exhaust and induction kit it is now £2160 and I still have to put my coilovers on when they come this week... and then all the other mods i plan to do.
I think thats good though.....?
How much is yours then?

I dont think it is. Im only 18 and its group insurance 12... Most people pay £3000 for their first car, so £2160 at this age with points and mods... I thinks its alright.

Agreed
Well mine was £700 in September but that was with 4 years NCB and all modifications declared (tints, exhaust, coilovers, induction kit etc). Is the policy in your name?
Fair play to you for paying that much though, would have been too steep for me to pay at your age.
I bet your mates are pretty jealous of you driving a GTI at 18.

Word of advice reference the bonnet bar, dont keep it on the car for too long because its going to mark the paint.
They are made to serve a purpose rather than for looks so just try not to leave it on for longer than 7 days for the sake of your paintwork.

Im not calling you old lol I wouldn't dare do that... But insurance hase gone up a rediculous amount for young drivers

and if i didnt have the 3 points then i would be paying £ 1700...
And yeah its in my own name

And i just want to clarify first that my parents did not pay anything... I worked long and hard for this

but its all been worth it!
And yes lol whenever we go anywhere at college everyone always "Shotguns" my car -_- The only student car faster than mine is a Fiat Punto 1.9t with loads of mods?! but his parents got that for him...

Yeah ive heard about that. The whole idea of getting it though was to cover up the recess in my bonnet as filling it in is out of my price range atm. But i plan to do it in the summer. So the plan was to keep in on untill the bonnet gets done and only use it for long journeys after ive got the bonnet done.

I am getting old these days to be fair lol
Hats off to you, if you can afford it then go for it.
I got mine when I had just turned 20 and it cost me £1400 in the first year but has crept down every year since.

You can always re-fit the standard grill if you get any problems anyway, its only a 2 minute job

Naa your not old
You really dont like the grill do you ha?
I might do that when/if i start to notice any damage to the bonnet paint.
Depending on how much money i earn this summer Im going to try and get it all smoothed so thats when ill do the bonnet and get a full respray maybe. Depending on how much overtime i get XD
Man i LOVE overtime...

I'm not a fan of the grill but if you smoothed off the front end and stick a "GTI"badge back on there it would look alot better. I got my front & rear bumpers smoothed back in 2009 for £150 + VAT per bumper, they are not everybody's cup of tea but I like the way they look. The only problem with smoothing the front bumper is positioning the number plate.
Keep us all updated on the car mate
I dont want to clutter up your build thread too much

yeah that would work nicely

You just have to buy a number plate shroud and put in on the lower grill bit dont you i thinks...
I love the smooth look

Okay fair enough, Im getting a hidden exhaust done next tuesday so that'll be the next update or the coilovers yay
