What was the reason for changing the spark plugs? Were you having misfire issues already? I know there has been the odd dodgy coilpack getting around...
Revo recommend the NGK sparkplugs with their remap as they aren't as exposed as the OEM ones and I spoke to Kev at Revo and he even goes as far as to say that the Revo map and NGK plugs are better for the engine long term as the OEM plugs are getting coated in fuel on the stock map and this is what they understand is causing the misfires. As the misfires progressively get worse this then could lead to the failures that have been seen. My engineering background isn't in the motor trade, but I know enough about engines to know when the theory is sound behind an expaination and Kev's sounds spot on. 8)
I wouldn't take the car back under warranty for something I know I've done. I would either go for aftermarket pistons and a bore out or do an exchange for a 2.0TFSi K04 and DSG with a new loom and necessary hardware (possibly the plan later anyway!!!). :wink:

Yes Hurdy, that is the solution I like!!! :):):):)

There is a mechanical LSD now available for the GTI also, as well as new uprated clutch-plate packs being looked into also for the weakest link in the chain of the driveline. I just find it interesting though that (please correct me if I'm wrong here) being the hub for european based vehicels, there really isn't much in the way of aftermarket part development for these cars, yet in the convict colony down here, with our insignificant numbers of vehicles, it's teh aussies that are at teh fore-front of parts development!

Every week a trawl through google translate looking for new bits and bobs and I can't find anything even remotely resembling an upgrade other than a forge diverter valve or a tune!

PS, bigger hybrid turbo setups are also undway:)

You are right Gav, I was actually on the APR Australia site looking to see if they had developed an intercooler for the Polo GTI yet. When I had the ED30, APR Australia were at Awesome GTI, where I had some mods done and they were handing out little freebies and ended up with a torque arm insert :)
The Clutchpack and the Mechanical LSD are two items I will probably need at some point, so I'd be grateful if you could post up any links. 8)

Guy Harding, the guy who runs Harding Performance and APR Australia has put up heaps of pics of what they're doing to their polo GTI on their facebook site, right down from the day they picked it up, to weighted photos of the new, 323mm Alcon rotor setup they put on, right through to the intercooler and LSD:)

Had a look at their Facebook page and there is some tasty kit being developed there :P

I've just delayed my ITG intake as they are now developing a Polo GTI specific intake that uses the extra space in the engine compartment. Their current offering is generic for the Seat Ibiza Cupra/VRS/GTI and has to allow for the battery fitted in the other two models. By all accounts it should be a cracking bit of kit with better airflow and filtration 8)

Well, thanks to Blaade I now have some mint (really do look brand new) parts for the GTI. Great chap and a gentleman. 8)

Oh, and if anyone wants some rather tasty lowering springs, I don't need Blaades as the Bilstein B16 PSS10's have arrived :mrgreen:

Well, I thought that I'd better see what stuff weighs before it goes on the car, so here we are...

OEM wheels with tyres weigh 20.0kg - lighter than I thought.

Team Dynamic Pro Race 1.2 alloys and tyres weigh in at 17.6kg - a saving of 2.4kg a corner.

Spare came out of the boot = another 14kg gone.

Bilstein B16 PSS10's weigh 20.5kg including the box!

Milltek Stainless steel Turbo-back exhaust system weighs 19.4kg including the box I laid it on.

Lightweight race battery weighs 7.3kg

Once the OEM suspension and Exhaust is off I'll get a weight saving and post it up. 8)

Sounds good mate:)

Check your corner weights also, just because youre removing weight doesn't always make it a good thing, especially if it's all out the back. You will get better power down and turn in with the greater weight balance forward (it could only be a 1-2% which wouldn't matter really) but if it's a comprehensive weight shift you might induce lift-off oversteer in the bad way because ESC will constantly be coming into play....

Brakes have also landed in the UK, so I'll be picking them up on Friday and fitting them - front AND rears. :twisted:

Also ........ Woohoo,

Stage 2 put on the car today and it feels much livelier.  :twisted:

Exhaust system sounds sublime with a sound that even Steve Jr at Statllers says sounds better than a 2.0TFSI and I have to agree.....of course.  Lovely deep burble at idle and some nice "farts" from the car on gearchange and overrun crackle.  :D

Dark tints on this weekend for the windows (neglected to tick the B pillar tint option  :cry: ), but should be VERY dark. Then next week the front end will get a face upgrade  :wink:
and then water/meth.    :twisted:

I'd say yes as I'm currently running without Xenon levellers as Milltek do a bracket relocation part for the levellers.
