Reverse crunching on 6n 16v when being engaged

I had this problem with my polo Gti it was crunching badly into reverse and second gear, It turned out the problem was a broken (Pedal Box) it had snapped and thats what caused the crunching, once it was replaced it is sweet as a nut and feels like a new Gearbox.

Was that expensive to replace?? I suppose its cheaper than a new gearbox! How much did it cost if you dont mind me asking!
