205s will rub when turning lowered or not. Lowered will make it worse.

Even at the rears? As 6 or 6.5" look pretty tucked in when they are lowered.

I went for 195/40 in the end which were fine apart from at the rear when the tyres were brand new there was a slight bit of rubbing with the arch liners, but only for a week or so.

Now, I do want to lower it sometime soon, but I can't with the current size as they are. Again, I don't really want to use 195/40 as for same reason as before that they don't give much wheel protection and being the wheels are split rim, they are expensive to refurbish (one wanted £660 for the set to be done!!). Also the choice is a bit limited to Toyo and Continental (with rim protection) and they are not so good on fuel as some of the 45 profile tyres.

I don't want to lower it much-no more than 4cm, so how about using small spacers with the 195/45 tyres such as 10/12/15mm? Surely these would push the wheels out from where they rub on the inside and still not be pushed out enough to rub on the arches?
