Yeah I'd like to see some more pics. How's the ride quality been effected? You had any probs with speed bumps?

Front near side driveshaft has to be removed, no other way around it, and a very handy tool to have is the hub spreader that VW use. Can find them on eBay, think there around £12. Makes life a lot easier with that beauty

Backs are very easy, takes all off 10 minutes aside for them. I would allow a good hour for the fronts though.

Sounds like a pain. I will probably end up doing the backs myself and then just popping it into the garage for the fronts.

The ride quality has been harder on the back but still bearable.
If you go over speedbumps a bit slower than with original height there is no difference imo

no need to remove the front near side driveshaft!!!

i dint have to anyway

just undo the lower arm and slide the 3 bolts off it to get it lower, use the spreader tool (or a screwdriver) to pry open the gap behind the shock then stamp the sheeite out of it! WD40 and jobs a good'un!

right no need to do any of the above it really simple get a hammer chap the lower arm till it bottom out with the top mount bolt still on but loosened, the use a jack and push the shock out of the lower arm using a metal bar and done simple

I took mine the the VW dealer ~ sat around for two hours drinking coffee
all done properly with the right tools and torqued up
6R0 071677A ~ correct for my engine type and car weight
Once settled down it has dropped the front 30mm and the rear by 40mm
These are the blue Eibach springs and not the long black things shown on the VW website
The ride is firm and it has lost the bounce back following a bump
The rear has stopped lifting in a long corner
and you can feel the progressive compression of the spring as it rides bumps
and the Polo looks like it should with the door sill level and a nice gap around the tyres
These springs should have been a £75 option when it was built

Do you have any pics of how it sits now? How much did VW charge you?
Thanks

franko and viewers ~ I have pics but I don't have a photo share website to upload them on and don't want one ~ sorry
There was another posting on here with pics that triggered my changes ~ have a search back and you will find it
I was going to wait until the first service and a change back to my original insurance company
But it looks so bad with the original springs that it was booked in after six months
I qualified for the free year VW insurance as I took delivery, that wasn't on offer when I ordered it
So I phoned them before having the springs fitted by the dealers to check if it was OK
I think they phoned somebody else while I waited to see if it was OK and came back with a couple of questions
have I changed the wheels was one!
and I think, because it was a genuine VW part and because it didn't take the value of my extras over a limit
It was OK and noted as an extra now but didn't change this years policy agreement, but it might in the future
'So check it out first with your insurance company' they might not be happy about non branded parts
The dealers worked out the price by two hours fitting time plus the parts which came out more than the all in fitted price on the VW website
So I pointed out the £300 supplied and fitted price and they agreed on that ~ it works out about 50-50 with the price of the springs
They were delivered in two days in a nice box to keep the originals in
The dealers didn't mention anything about the change to the vehicle spec and telling the insurance company ~ I think they should have
Have a look at Eibach production and quality on you tube

ive just fitted coilovers on my 6r, you will need spline sockets for the pinch bolt on the bottom of the hub pal
if your not that familiar with modifying a car the fronts can be a real pain in the arse to get off

right i never done anything like anyone is say to fit my coilovers there is a much quicker and simpler way to do it, all you do is remove to lower bolt on the hub holding the shock in, loosen the top mount bolt so it is only on 2 or 3 threads, you then hit the lower arm down untill it bottom out, you then jack the shock up using a pole or block of wood againt the anti roll bar mount once you have jacked it up hit the lower arm down again and the shock will pop out simple
