My dealership has two, a demo car and one in the showroom. Just have to wait for the salesman I use to get back from his Xmas hols now to get my order in and find if a stock car exists or if it needs building. Really hope it isn't the latter as I couldn't take a three or four month wait!

I know what you mean, but on the other hand, I don't like the idea of a car that was 'built for someone else'. The flipside of the long wait is that I get a custom-made car just the way I want... and it also gives me time to amass soothing but ultimately unnecessary toys, like mats, chrome tailpipes, LED bulbs, etc. :D

Where is your local dealer with 2 BGTs? I will be over near Windsor over Xmas visiting relatives...

Preston VW (Lookers). They have an automatic one that's done 5000 miles in Blue silk with parking sensors, sat nav and a couple of other options and a manual Blue silk that's done 2 miles with tinted windows, anthracite alloys, folding door mirrors and xenons.

If the car is to the spec I want I'm happy to get one that was built for someone else if it means I get it sooner!

OK thanks. I see they also have one in Walton on Thames, not too far from where I'll be. It's a 6R, though.

I went with silver for my Blue Silk BGT, but I don't think there's much in it.

Once they covered in brake dust and road grim it's difficult to tell the difference :?

Looks good. What options did you go for?

Climate control, armrest, winter pack, parking sensors, light and sight pack, MirrorLink (not supplied as they suspended the option after ordering) and Xenons (dealer forgot to add to factory order, so I'm getting another new car in March with them fitted).

I've also added sat nav instead of MirrorLink for the new order.

Nice. Does the armrest get in the way of the handbrake? It's ok in my golf as that's an auto handbrake but in my wifes polo it looks like it'd get in the way.

Yes it does when it's down, but it can be left upright between the seats. I tend to lower it when on the motorway, but leave it up for the rest of the time.
