Mines going in for colour coding this Monday, having a rear spoiler fitted and the damage repaired from when someone drove into me last month.
All costing me nothing of course, gawd I'm lucky!
Hopefully, I'll be getting the lower part of the sills painted black as it looks much better. I'm not sure but...
1) It was a feature only on earlier models or...
2) It was a feature only for models with 16 Inch wheels (more likely)
Either way, they'd be much better for me as the texture on the sills makes them a real pain to clean!
They also go better with the black lower parts of the bumpers.
Heres what I'm on about by the way...

as far as i know, 4-door models have black painted side sills and 2-door models have them painted the body color. and i think the rough texture is the anti-rusting coat on the sills.

yeah, ive got black unsmooth paint at the bottom of the sill. i was dissapointed cus i prefer it being silver (or body colour)

Nope, I've seen many 3 doors with Barcelonas and San Marinos that have black sills
Could be for your country only though?
I'm determind to get to the bottom of this one!

well i've seen one exceptional 4-door with painted side sills riding on 14's in istanbul, but that's it. maybe it's random? what could be the relation between sills and wheels anyway?

btw, am i the only one here that doesn't like the way the front bumper looks? i mean it seems as if VW forgot to put a color coded bumper, the way the body comes down from the sides and stops below the fog lights. old audi a3s and some passats have that kind of bumpers but ours is the sharpest. i had color coding the bumpers and sills all around in my mind the first day i bought her, hopefully will be realized this month

Yes!
I think the front bumpers fine (with fogs of course
) though from some angles the front does tend to look 'out of proportion'. Can't put my finger on what it is though

Got the car back today!
Bumper Strips colour-coded and rear spoiler fitted. As well as all the chips done.
No pics though, you'll have to come to the Polo Show!

i dont understand y u want black, isnt body colour better? ppl pay more money (like me) on colour coding (colour pack) bumper strips and door handles etc....

fresh from the bodyshop!!
lower bumpers & side sills painted
front VW badge painted black
driver's side door handle de-locked
rear VW badge being color coded at the moment
so... what do you guys think???
