Mine's the in-dash 6xCD changer unit, yeah.

my mum's car has the same prob on the drivers sid edo u think i should get her to get it replaced under warrenty ? she just thinks it's caus e she leaves the window ajar but i guess shesw wrong and we do wash the car with a low power jet wash

First thing I'd do is make sure that the window is closed as tightly as it will go before you next wash it. If after doing this you still get water ingress, I'd take it to the dealer (especially since it's still under warranty).

It could well have something to do with the window being slightly ajar, as I used a pressure washer this weekend and had no problems. First I made sure the rear windows were wound up properly (which they were), so I suspect when I had the problem the window was open enough to let water in.

It could be the winder mech. is dodgy and the window winds it's self down slowly bit by bit (cousins octavia has a tendancy to do that).

Yes. Changed once, needs changing again now. Can't be ar$ed until it goes in for a regular service. Fortunately I'm a radio listener so don't miss the CD much.

so u reckon the changer is less reliable than the single slot?
any 1 got the single slot?

i think i no what the problem is with the leaky windows; on work exp at a VW dealership we had a passat in wit same problem, the glass is held to the winder mechanism with two clamps at the bottom, it is possible for the glass to slip down between these, u just hav to loosen the clamps and pull the glass up a few mils and retighten, but y not let VW do it under waranty!!!!
