Hope you enjoy your new GTI! Ordered my factory order on the 11th September, still haven't heard anything from the dealer as of yet though! Can't come soon enough. Nice spec too!!

If the deal suits you at the time that's all that matters really, mine arrived last week. Got light and sight, convenience pack, arm rest, app connect and sat nav at a touch over £18k, I was well pleased with my deal.

so got notification today that my car is in the UK and cleared for transport to the dealer! going in next week to sign documents then should get to pick it up in the next 2 weeks or so!

Collecting mine on Friday. Just had a quick look at it in the prep shed but not in detail yet. Mine will have taken 10 weeks from order to collection. Two weeks from clearing the boat to collection.

What spec did you opt for? Can't wait for it to be at your stage!!

Fairly modest spec
3 door in white
Sport pack with DCC
Convenience Pack
cruise and park pack
armrest
and 5 year warranty - (if we do not keep for 5 years then a selling point and currently a single year VW extension costs over £300 so thought a good deal as prices will only go up)

this part of the wait is the worst part as you cant track it
also getting a years free insurance from VW as that's the offer at the moment (saves quite a few quid!)

it looks like ill be collecting some time mid november....

How do you go about the years free insurance? Is it to late if I've already place my order?

Insurance is a VW freebee. Look on the VW website at the Polo. Should get it automatically but worth reminding the dealer, I had to.

the website is https://www.insurewithvolkswagen.co.uk/polo/ you will need some info from your dealer when they register it. last time i looked, the free insurance was for vehicles registered before end of Jan 2017, so you have a bit of time

Been in touch with the dealer. This isn't avalible for the gti (and GT) if you're under 24 years of age. Disappointing, but ah well

ahh, im 27 so just qualify
