so much better!

the only thing is, i'm not sure it's allowed to have the fog lights as a drl. in the netherlands, the highway code forbids the usage of fog lights in non-foggy conditions. using them as a drl would -technically- be illegal and is a 120 euro fine...
i don't think you'll get ony anytime soon, but still. might be taken into consideration... 8)

OK.

We were trying to use the cornering lights function (as DRL's), not the fog lights.

For this:

yes, i completely understand this topic, and in this case it makes perfect sense.
but maybe some day, someone else will read the topic and will do the same with an OEM bumper. then it needs to be considered.

Thank you for all your help, I'm feeling better about doing the wiring, just one more thing. Could you tell me the route you would take from the switch to the engine? I know on autos they can use the spare grommet under the 3rd pedal space, but I have manual. On the other side with my amplifier wiring I seem to remember going around the wheel arch, which was not fun.

I think there was a tutorial with pictures, but now I can not find it.
However, follow the original wiring up to the headlight zone, and then route the wires to your new DRLs. It is simple to explain, something more difficult to do.

If you do not have the wires, look on eBay. Also use the forum search engine, there is a lot of information about it. Ask before doing, there are several ways to connect the DRLs to the 6R. Depending on the original equipment.

Do you have VCDS or any diagnostic tool?

More info, better help. (images, Autoscan, etc)
