you can remove just the transparent cover or the whole unit. for the whole unit, there are two notch points that you need to press and pry out on the longer sides of the rectangle shape.

Thanks for this. Very helpful and easy when you know where the retaining clips are located. Cheers

This kit looks good and I like the idea of the blue LED's.
The kit contains 2 x footwell lights , how easy are these to wire in and fit?
You will only get the bulbs - the rest you have to buy at your dealer if your car isen't "born" with footwell lights. But it is an easy fit...

sorry to hijack someone elses post, but when i bought some LEDs for the interior it ended up blowing the fuse and i think the car s**t itself!
Is this due to buying incorrect bulbs (they where purchased at Halfords - in the UK)
So, would the OSRAM ones posted be the correct ones?

Hi!
I have a question about front interior light. I fitted the Osram LED's, but in my opinion they were a bit bright, the LED footwell lights gets less visible. Rear roof light is ok, so I would like something similar in front. So my idea is to cancel out the reading lights in front and only go with the center light when unlocking and opening doors, but I still want to be able to use the reading lights when activating them. And I would like all the lights to go on when pushing light switch to the right, at least in front. Has anyone done something similar? I looked into the wiring in the unit, but it gets a bit strange with the dimming earth and everything.
Thanks in advance!

Chipping in with my experience. Somewhere on this forum an helpful soul posted this link
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/20pcs-C ... 35552.html
I bought those and replaced the 3 bulbs in the front centre light cluster and also the boot light. They work brilliantly and have thrown no errors thus far. The difference in light in the cabin is astounding. Previously it was yellow and difficult to see. As a map light it failed to serve it's purpose. Now it is bright white and much improved.
I hadn't realised that the other interior bulbs were different so I've ordered some festoon lights for the back seat lights. Hopefully I've ordered the correct ones as I only discovered they are available in different lengths after ordering. It's a steep learning curve... I will report back once I've installed these.
I also ordered and installed a new reversing bulb as the OEM one was poor. The new one seems brighter (not been reversing in the dark since installation) and there are no errors. I would have ordered from Aliexpress but didn't want to wait for a month to get something which might not work so went to ebay

Update: I received and installed the festoon lights which are heaps better than the OEM version. They are also cheap as chips:

Hi All,
I am considering swapping my yellow coloured interior bulbs for a cleaner white set of bulbs.
Could anyone tell me the correct voltage and bulb types (W5W/C5W?) for the interior of a 2019 Polo Beats?
Iām interested to fit the Philips X-TremeUltion LED bulbs, but need reassurance that my fuses will not burn out...can LED bulbs be fitted in place of halogen bulbs without resistors?
https://www.philips.co.uk/c-p/129404000 ... -car-light
Is there an OEM LED bulb set available as is the case with the VW T5 (ZGB7H0052007)?
I would also consider a white set of halogen bulbs if anyone has any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!!

I decided to take a chance at ordering cheap replacements to see if they worked. They did work and it cost very little.
There were 2 types of bulb which I got from Aliexpress
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32812707410.html
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32839635552.html (out of stock but you get the idea - there are loads of other retailers selling similar)
The difference with the bright white is astounding. I found the interior lights didn't illuminate the interior and finding things was difficult. Not any more!
