No that's 21 but looks ok. The pink slider in the fuse box appears to be in the unlocked position though.
Looks like there is some aftermarket/retrofitted equipment in the car, connected to the bcm plug.

Sorry what’s the BCM plug. I’m clueless to all of this.

As far as I am aware there’s no retrofitted equipment.

the bcm plug is the big connector that goes into the bcm, the black one one you photo.
there seem to be some additional wires that don't belong to the factory wiring loom.

did you already try to disconnect some light units, to see what happens?

According to the information provided so far, and having made the relevant basic checks, the key is the accidental kick you gave to the area of the fuse box when you were waiting for your friends.

Well, this should not happen under any circumstances.

I mean to the bare copper wires in a wire that reaches the fuse box.

It could be that the previous owner removed some equipment that he had installed.

What is failing is a +30 signal, and it is highly likely that the bare copper wires are the culprits.
Visit an electrician, that harness must be visually inspected in its entirety by removing at least the two bands of cloth tape that are visible in that image.

Yes I think I’m going to have to. Will probably cost an arm and a leg...!

Thanks

The operation will consist of splicing or insulating those copper wires correctly, so it should not be a hard operation for an electrician.
Hmm ... 50 pounds? due to work time. 5 pounds? the materials to be used.

(sorry, my keyboard doesn't have the symbol of "£ pound sterling" in a direct way)

Hi Guys, so I decided to live with it as it was a minor inconvenience and just didn’t have the time to get to the garage. However last night this all changed.

Parked outside my house and went to turn on the central dome light, as I pressed the button something blew and the light did not come on. A very irritating ticking from the fuse box location that will not stop, no matter the car being off, there’s no way to stop it. No interior lights work at all (not even in the back) and there’s the “lighting malfunction” symbol on the dash. I disconnected overnight so it didn’t drain completely.

Called the garage this morning and dropped it off, they weren’t able to look at it until tomorrow so just waiting now.

A bit annoyed that the dome light can basically completely disable the car, as I can’t leave it parked for more than 4 hours without it draining the battery... as the relay just won’t stop ticking away, tried to get to the relay board but it seems completely inaccessible right up behind the dashboard and needs to be disassembled.

Hi,
Hmm ... talk to the electrician about the copper wires that are visible in the fusebox harness.

Please keep us informed, thanks.

The garage said it looked like it’s been fiddled with in the past.

Ok, thank you very much for the report, we were on the right path.

I hope your pocket has not been damaged too much by this repair.

Thank You ciclo and iichel for your help, only cost around £172 which wasn’t too much. Just glad it’s all sorted now!
