What are the chances the performance output is downgraded on the polo due to the new emission testing as just seen seat have had to downgrade the 2.0 lump on the cupra 300 to 290

Very unlikely. The 2.0TSI is highly strung at 300ps, the 200ps unit is not, and manual/DSG GTI 230/245 have had no downgrade announced.

The 1.5 evo engine for the new Ibiza has also disappeared from the Seat configurator (previously it was 'subject to availability'...)

It's been unavailable gor at least 2 months. Was looking into getting a 1.5Evo Ibiza FR before I managed to snag a scheduled to build GTI+ and the SEAT dealer was bemoaning the lack of availability for lots of engine/gearbox combos in the SEAT range due to WLTP tests not having been done yet.

Yes, it was discussed on one of the Seat forums a while ago. ‘Temporarily’ discontinuing the 1.5 Evo engine in the Ibiza helps explain why we’ve not seen it in the Polo yet, and won’t see it until it’s WLTP compliant.

Standard gti golf dropped only the performance edition available seems like a lot of engines getting chopped

This was discussed some weeks ago over on golfgtiforum.co.uk.

Also, Golf GTD and Golf R models with manual transmission are not being put through WLTP certification, so are being discontinued as part of 2019 model year changes,

There’s a new Polo price list dated 03/08/2018 (so, effective tomorrow) on VW’s website.

I’ve not gone through to see if there are any changes to standard or optional equipment or what’s changed, price-wise, but VW have at long last corrected the winter pack content to ‘heated front seats and low washer fluid warning light’ 😉

Might be some subtle changes in spec or technical descriptions of Engines for post WLTP builds (now that VW will presumably now know the specifics of kit for compliance), e.g.specific mention of GPFs.
