Thanks for the reply, I was hoping they might have added it to MY19 build cars. It might seem trivial, but that is a deal breaker as my wife won't have a car now without it!

VWs full electronic handbrake is excellent. I'd pay for it if it were an option. Works faultlessly on my Golf R. My mate's Audi A4 has a variant where you have to physically put it on at the end of the journey when parking up, but it handles the hill hold part automatically.

Your mate's Audi really offers no advantage then, apart from maybe some added storage space where a lever would be.
Used to be hill-hold only came with E-brakes, but many manufacturers now do hill-hold with a normal lever.
My Polo and the wife's Sportage, for example.

The wife's A1 did hill hold with a traditional handbrake, they're all doing it - so easy to implement with no big costs. My mate swapped a big lever for a flippy switch in his repmobile A4 but felt short changed when he saw the Golf's system. The Golf's "never need to touch it" electronic parking brake is excellent.

No good for winter driving though, where a normal handbrake becomes a valuable tool.
Snowy roads, my hand is always close to the handbrake.
Sometimes just for fun, sometimes as a proper driving aid.

I borrowed golf mk7 from my friend and I didn't like "never need to touch it electronic parking brake". It was wierd and I have no confidence in electronic systems like this.

Any idea's on lead times?? Ive read the post, But is it colour and spec specific

Some people have waited a year without a build date yet. I got an unallocated car grab for my red GTI+. Ordered by the dealership (or a cancelled order?) early in 2018, built in June deliver to me 1st Aug.

Have another one order - pure white (both cars have Brescias, red one had nav and rear cam that I wouldn't have specced myself. The white one was ordered start of Nov and will be built mid-March.

Brescia wheels don't seem to be a hold up, nor paint choice, but I suspect a sunroof is. Bigger dealership groups have bigger allocation allowances. Now WLTP is done, I suspect cars will be getting allocated build weeks sharper.

I can put you in touch with my supplying saleswoman who'll do you a broker discount (about £2700 off list price) and deliver on a trailer. PM me if you want the details (no, I'm not on commission, but I'll have had 2 GTI+ pretty quick from them.

My LHD polo gti (we only have gti) with white color, manual transmision, brescia, nav, led and few other options was delivered around week 20 (middle of december). Neighbor asked same dealer when he saw mine and they told him that waiting is now around 8 months. It is gonna take some time before they will clear all that orders they already have.

Just ordered the GOLF GTI performance

After trying to get a test drive in the polo unsuccessfully, And being told 6 months lead time. I drove the golf and loved it. Very nice place to be. Very refined well compared to the Alfa anyway. quick but useable. Sounded great too imo.

Anyway if this falls through ill see about the polo, until then

Nice one did they give you a lead time on the Golf GTi Performance?

12 to 16 weeks, potentially sooner. Waiting for more information

I would probably like golf GTI more than my polo but in my currency polo cost me 665 thousands and golf GTI with same options was for 950 thousands ... and that was big deal breaker for myself

To be honest the golf is at the top of my budget, But stuff it
