Depends how much you fancy spending but the Philips H7 LED kits on amazon are around £130 and give a superb beam as they are a proper bulb. So long as you remove them for MOT, it’s fine

The higher the K the lower the light output so whilst it looks good, it actually reduces visibility.
I agree .. I went for the Osram 80w bulbs and as much as they are whiter, visibility is much worse. They shine the same distance but not as bright.

Yup, that's the set up I will have
The 5000K Phillips bulbs on dip, the 4200K Osrams on main.

Here's the 5000K Philips bulb compared with standard.
No need to tell you which is which.
I've got this bulb change down to a fine art now, headlights out/changed and back in in minutes.

Looks better Andy, have you changed the fog light bulbs yet and if so what bulbs have you used, cheers.

Andy do you have a link to the 2 sets of bulbs you have upgraded to? They look great.

It should be noted that these bulbs are not road legal to use in the UK. They are also dimmer than normal bulbs, putting less light onto the road, despite being a “whiter” colour.

I wouldn't worry about the legalities... But certainly aren't as bright on the actual road.

I was more concerned about getting white light whilst not overloading the wiring.
Really the combo of standard yellow headlights and LED DRLs (which stay on with the headlights) is horrible.
So these are ideal at 5000K and 55W.
If they're not as bright as the standard yellow lights, that's overruled by my eyes preferring the white and therefore perceiving it as better.

After careful consideration and reading this, I’ve opted for Philips X-treme vision bulbs.

Excellent reviews, a whiter light and more brightness on the road. Should have done this before winter but hey ho!

How does everyone find the fitting process? I’ve had mixed results with cars over the years. Some cars were a piece of cake to change the bulbs and others a nightmare.

Very easy

1. Slacken 2 x torx head bolts under the bonnet, on top of the headlights - you'll see which two by trial and error
2. Thump headlight from the back and it pops out like a dangling eye
3. Either leave the headlight dangling while you change the bulbs, or unclip the wiring loom (one clip) and take the headlight elsewhere.

The bulbs themselves are just a pull/push fit.
When refitting the headlights, make sure you get the bottom tang/clip back into the groove on the car, or the headlight will wobble.
And make sure you get the lines where the headlight meets the wing nice before you tighten fully.
