Er... isn’t that what we already know? The point is that VW AG (Germany) say it’s a lifetime part. VW UK say 5 years. RUM does explain that in his reply above.
Quite a lot on Google about this topic... with both opinions expressed.

Yup, but as I am in the UK I’ll follow what VW UK recommend to maintain the full service history.
