I regularly deliver a chauffeur-drive experience on both our DSG cars.

Only Sport mode gives that slightly sharper change down at walking speed.

The secret to a smooth stop is coming off the brake as you stop.

Sounds daft - but works.

I've had 141 out of mine in sport mode. Bottled going any faster if I'm honest haha. Seemed like it wanted to give a little extra though.
This was back in the first lockdown days when the motorways were empty.

I'm aware that coming off the brake as you come to a stop definitely helps.
But that last downchange (It's around 15mph or just below - it's hard to be accurate) is pretty jerky in any mode.
Smoothest in ECO, but still there.

EDIT TO THE ABOVE
Literally just found out that while the ECO mode stays selected when you restart the car, the 'freewheeling' feature doesn't.
So that explains why my ECO mode is jerky on the downchanges lately (I thought I was imagining it and it must have always been like that)
I'll have to unselect and re-select ECO mode every journey to get the smooth stopping back. :(
