GTI 6C Brake Upgrade

So I’ve decided to order some MK1 Cupra R Brembo front Calipers today… other than discs, pads and hose, what else will I need to get? Do the brembos fit on the same calipers mount as the stock polo?

if you get the carriers off the Cupra R they are a straight bolt on.

you will need 15mm spacers to clear the wheels ( i tried 12mm and it wasn't enough)

it's something like a M10 male thread. I got them from HEL and just explained what i needed and they turned up

Got everything sorted now, only thing I’m wondering I might have missed is the bolts that mount the carriers to the wheel hub. Do you know if you used the stock polo bolts or did you use Cupra R bolts?

the easiest upgrade for the 6c is to get a full of brakes off a seat leon Mk1 cupra R .

you will need to run spacers on the front to clear the calipers but they are pretty much bolt on (new flexi hoses on the front only thing required)

the rears are 256mm vented aswell and use the correct 2wd carrier rather than the wrong 4wd one.

also you'll enjoy having a stage 3 GTI

I was told by someone to go for the Leon Cupra R brakes, it seems to be the most viable option other than keeping my current brakes and being “extra” careful.
I’ll take a look on fleebay tonight!

And yes I’m extremely excited, got my IS20 sat in the garage begging to be put in the polo! Just need a few more bits then I’ll pull the trigger.

Sorry for hijacking an old thread, but i noticed you say the 4WD carriers are wrong. If callipers come with the 4wd carriers could they be swapped out for 2wd ones?

Front brake conversion using mk1(1M) Seat Leon Cupra R, Brembo front brakes you need:
Calipers (left: 1ML615105) (right: 1ML615106)
Carriers (1ML615421)
Hoses
Discs and pads
15mm spacers with factory wheels

Rear vented 256mm conversion you need:
MUST BE FWD. AWD CARRIERS AND CALIPERS WILL NOT FIT

Calipers:
Seat PN:(left: 8N0615423C) (right: 8N0615424C)
Seat painted PN: (left: 1J0615423E) (right: 1J0615424E)
Audi PN: (left: 1J0615423G) (right: 1J0615424H)

Carriers:
Seat and Audi PN: (left: 8N0615425C) (right: 8N0615426C)

Golf 4 Jubilee edition (can someone confirm the type code?)

Any reasons that the part numbers differ between the Seat and Audi part for the rear caliper?
Also if anyone that has fitted either or both upgrades could comment on their experience with them in regards to sourcing parts, fitting them, and how they feel/act compared to stock that'd be great

Below are the sources I used and some part diagrams attached.

Not to take any credit away from those that surfaced this information, I just put what I could find together in a single post for easy reference by others.

Really appreciate all the effort to sort all this out mate. Ill be gutted if the 4wd callipers wont fit, as ive been told by a few people the carriers would enable them to fit, im fitting them soon so ill pop back here to say if they definitely do fit or not

I've just bought myself a set of Leon Cupra Brembos and have a question for those that have them fitted. Other than the hoses and spacers needed to fit, would the Leon backing plates fit on the polo or would I need to make the polo ones fit?

Long time lurker & on lots of other forums for my cars but now need some advice so signed up. I will do a formal intro when at my computer & post some pics. Dont shoot me for owning the Seat version but got a 2010 Ibiza cupra so same platform; the guys & galls over there don’t seem to into modding ibizas so figured it would be more helpful here. Just removed my old tt v6 brakes (spares I had laying around) and uprated to some tarox 6 pots. Brake pedal hasn’t felt right since and isn’t very positive as far as feedback. Has anyone successfully improved this with an uprated master cylinder? I have a master cylinder stopper on order so have any flex on the mounting but feel like I need a bigger piston to get it back to how it felt with the smaller calipers

Any help would be really appreciated. I’ve seen the part numbers posted earlier on but I’m still unclear which ones ideally needed
