I have found a youtube video where someone seems to get the same noise when requesting high boost at low rpm in say 4/5/6 gear in manual mode.

This is a golf gti (same engine pretty much)

After asking other tuners they have suggested it is ‘on throttle compression surge’ which is potentially fatal for the turbo.

So I will be returning to REVO in the new year.

I have now uploaded the sound clip of my actual cars noise.

After meeting up with Gav on here we have deduced that both cars are the same and have both been told they ‘logged perfect’ from two different REVO tuners.

So either everything is actually fine, or REVO have not tested those specific conditions that bring about the surge noise or whatever it is from the video.

Can confirm many years later there was never anything wrong and car has been perfect.

If i was to do it again / not get offered such a deal from REVO.

Then i would probably just go with intake, exhaust, stage 1 from MRC.
