It's got perks that was in the upcomming releases so due to this they call it special edition, yet the actual special edition on the 25th anniversary should be called special limited edition. I think, as its can be a bit confusing.
I think that calling it ‘special’ may have just been a marketing ploy - no disrespect or offence intended. Keyless, lower suspension (than the standard Polo) and digital dash were all part of the standard spec on the 2020 GTI+ that I owned. 18” alloys were an extra cost option, but many GTI’s had these as they were quite a cheap option (from memory, they cost around £350 extra in 2020 when I bought my GTI+). Your car does have the benefit of the small engine bhp and the DQ381 7 speed DSG though; maybe to encourage potential Polo GTI customers to buy one of the last pre-facelift cars rather than wait for the facelift model. It’s normal practice for car manufacturers to add equipment make to an outgoing model before the facelift / next generation car is launched to maintain customer interest in that outgoing model.

Called vw finance and they said they dont reinburse, i only just had a service done but i paid for it, thinking it would carry over, vw finance said my dealer would reinburse me, but the service team are a bit funny with me and so no, it was too late, so I called VW finance again, told them what happened and as a jester of good will, payed me off, So I could start a new plan.
No, it’s not possible to carry over any unused services from a VW service plan; they have to be used before expiry date of the plan. If you were selling your car and there’s a service plan in force with unused services and the plan has been fully paid for, the next owner of the car gets the benefit of those unused services.

Agree, it's more a marketing ploy, and yes I got lucky with the service plan, last time when I got the car they carried it over for me. So can depend, I got lucky with a payout then.
