Thanks, iichel, that's a good question.
I found a post on our forumviewtopic.php?t=69864, and I'll try to figure out whether pin 13 and pin 19 are the key points.

GrOzNy21 had retrofitted an Aisin 09G transmission, but pins 13 and 19 were not shown in his post.
Therefore, I may need to look for other possible causes.

Progress Update: I have confirmed that the MFSW wiring is correct. During the wiring check, I discovered that at night the “+” paddle emits a dim light, and pressing the button makes it brighter (both 02: Auto Trans and 09: Cent. Elect. reported the error: Switch for Tiptronic in Steering Wheel (E439); DOWN).

Upon inspection, I found that PIN 3 of the “+” paddle was not soldered properly. Therefore, both paddles’ PIN 1, 2, and 3 must be correctly connected for the “+” and “–” backlights to function normally (as noted by iichel).

After reconnecting the wires, the error codes in both the TCU and BCM disappeared. However, the TCU still cannot receive paddle signals. It may indeed be as I found on a Taiwanese forum: 09G 927 750 LK AQ 250 does not support paddles.

Finally, here are some cases I found from China where others successfully retrofitted paddles — please use Chrome’s translation function:

According to a HackR post on DRIVE2, the 09G 927 158 AQ_3175 (AISIN AG6 G3) unit supports paddle shifters.
Furthermore, I have found erWin regarding a China-spec POLO modified with paddle shifters, which appears to be equipped with the same gearbox model.

Currently, my primary strategy is to attempt a TCU firmware update to unlock this functionality.
However, my TCU is the 09G 927 750 LK_2601, and so far, I have only been able to locate older firmware versions, specifically 2158 and 2238.
Therefore, it seems there is no hope for my 09G 927 750 LK to support paddle shifters. 🤣
